What it measures
Victims of intentional homicide by a partner, former partner or family member, per 100,000 men. Version published by Eurostat on 29 April 2026.
Methodology
Victims of intentional homicide killed by a partner, a former partner or a family member, per 100,000 resident men, from police-recorded data. It is the common European statistical base for homicides within the family; it does not match national definitions of femicide, which may also include homicides outside the family. For Italy the series starts in 2015; Eurostat computes no EU-27 value.

Crises
Conventional whole-year periods chosen by the editors; each period's source documents the event. They apply to every EU country. They show temporal coincidences, not causes.

- Sovereign debt crisis1 Jan 2011 – 31 Dec 2012

Governments
Each government covers the period from its swearing-in to the end date given by governo.it. An annual figure is not attributed to a single government: the bands show who was in office during the period, as a temporal coincidence. For public spending, the budget law for year N is passed by the government in office in year N−1.
