What it measures

Residents with foreign citizenship as a percentage of the population, computed from the values published by Eurostat. Version published by Eurostat on 14 September 2017, retrieved from a copy kept by the Internet Archive.

Methodology

Residents with foreign citizenship or stateless on 1 January, as a percentage of the resident population, computed by Data Super Partes dividing the two values Eurostat publishes for the same year. It counts citizenship, not country of birth: people who become Italian citizens leave the count. It excludes people without a residence permit, who are not registered as residents.
